The creator privacy checklist before you sell your first file
Blurred previews, private storage, watermarking discipline and account hygiene — the basics that protect creators selling paid content.
Selling content means handing files to strangers. Good platforms reduce the risk; good habits reduce it further.
Previews should never contain the real file
On UNLOCKY the preview a visitor sees is generated as a heavily downscaled, blurred thumbnail. The original never reaches the browser before payment, so it cannot be recovered by saving the preview or by a press-and-hold gesture.
Storage must be private by default
Paid media lives in private storage. Buyers receive short-lived signed links after a confirmed payment; nobody can guess a file URL.
Your own habits
- Strip metadata from files that reveal a location.
- Avoid recognisable backgrounds, documents or reflections.
- Use a separate creator email address.
- Enable email confirmation for sensitive changes such as bank details.
- Block and report buyers who pressure you — it is one tap in the chat menu.
